Data collected by the app
SmartControl OBD2 collects and stores the following data exclusively on your device:
- OBD2 diagnostic data (engine parameters, DTC error codes)
- Trip history and consumption statistics
- App preferences and settings
This data is never transmitted to external servers. It remains stored locally on your phone and you can delete it at any time.
Required permissions
To communicate with the Bluetooth OBD2 adapter.
Required by Android for Bluetooth Low Energy device scanning. Not used for GPS tracking.
Keeps the Bluetooth connection active while driving.
To communicate with Wi-Fi OBD2 adapters.
Third-party services
For app distribution and in-app purchases. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
If enabled, anonymous crash reports to improve stability.
Website analytics
This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) with Consent Mode: data is only collected if you accept cookies.
No in-app telemetry. The SmartControl app does not send any data to external servers. Analytics applies only to this website.
